International Legal Symposium

In the tradition of the previous jointly organized line of symposia on legal aspects of satellite navigation, this year’s extended event not only adds an international dimension to now space application supported services in general, but goes beyond legal and regulatory questions:

• Is the existing legal and regulatory framework within Europe globally competitive and sufficient to exploit the full economic power of satellite services to the benefit of our entrepreneurs and companies?
• How can liability risks from space services be covered by the insurance market?
• What measures could ensure an adequate role of satellites in the Digital Agenda

These questions will be debated at the 2-day conference, bringing together leading policy, legal and economic experts from EU bodies, ESA, national space agencies, industry associations, and academia. The conference will provide a platform for analysing the suitability of existing and the need for future laws and regulations governing the provision of space services and applications in Europe.

Objective of the conference is to discuss and illuminate such aspects with leading European experts from the business, legal as well as institutional side of satellite services.

Accommodation: There is a limited number of hotel rooms (including breakfast) available at the Evang. Akademie Tutzing (without Wifi and TV).
