the SUNRISE Roadshow Kyustendil
The EMMIA Innovation Partnership meets the SUNRISE Roadshow in Kyustendil, Bulgaria, on 18th November 2014
Regional development through innovation in services and mobile technologies:
On November 18, 2014 (Tuesday), at 10:00 am, the Regional Authority Kyustendil, in Bulgaria, will hold an International meeting in the framework of the European Commission‘s “European Mobile & Mobility Industries Alliance (EMMIA)“ initiative and the European GNSS Agency’s (GSA) Coordination and Support Action “SUNRISE”.
The meeting will discuss chances for creating new jobs based on the European Global Navigation Satellite System Galileo, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS), and also the European program for Earth observation (COPERNICUS/GMES). The meeting will be attended by international experts in the specific areas mentioned above.
We recall that, as a result of the successful implementation of the EMMIA initiative “Grow Mobile“, which Kyustendil Regional Administration was a partner of, the region took the opportunity to join the "Innovation Partnership" of the EMMIA - Policy Learning Platform. Kyustendil is one of three regions in Europe, besides Ireland and Luxembourg, such a pilot initiative has been started in order to increase the potential in mobile applications and services, see www.mobilise-europe.mobi.
Successful cooperation in the initiative so far, gave us the chance to join the "SUNRISE" initiative, see www.sunrise-project.eu, which aims to establish standards and raise awareness regarding the use of mobile communications and services based on location associated with the European Navigation Systems – Galileo and EGNOS.
