Paul is the General Manager of GRACE (GNSS Research and Applications Centre of Excellence) based at the University of Nottingham. GRACE is the technology transfer arm of the world renowned Nottingham Geospatial Institute (NGI). The activities of GRACE are focussed on assisting individuals, organizations, businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs to take advantage of satellite navigation, positioning, timing and location based technologies. GRACE provides a number of services including consultancy, training, testing and business incubation.
Paul has built up a vast amount of experience across the public and private sector. He started his career as a Graduate Engineer with GKN Automotive later moving into Technical Sales and Business Development roles. Paul was responsible for the attraction of large inward investment projects into the East Midlands region of the UK across the Transport Technologies sector including major manufacturing and engineering companies. He has acted as a consultant to the EU in many GNSS related activities and is currently the co-ordinator of the Galileo 3rd call co-ordination and support action GENIUS (GNSS Education Network for Industry and UniversitieS) concentrating on strengthening links between the GNSS University Research base and industry through technology transfer activities. Paul also heads up the UK leg of the Galileo Masters competition which attracts the most applicants than any other region in the world and provides a valuable pipeline of new ideas and businesses.
Paul holds a Masters degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick and is a fully qualified PRINCE 2 project management practitioner.
